How to make a Christmas greeting video
- Step 1
Keep it short
30 to 60 seconds are enough: a thank-you for the year, a picture of the team, a wish for the new year. Nobody watches more on 23 December.
- Step 2
Pick and download a song
A calm song with a clear ending works best. Download it as MP3 and put it under the video in your editing app. If it is longer than your greeting, fade it out at the end. If you speak yourselves, take the “No Melody” version.
- Step 3
End on the final chord
Let the logo or the greeting appear on the last note. That makes the video feel complete, even without much effort.
Tips for Christmas videos
Go easy on the bells
Sleigh bells and glockenspiel say “Christmas” at once, but get on your nerves after a minute. For longer videos, pick a calm song and keep the Christmas sounds for the intro or the ending.
Quiet under speech
When you speak, set the music 15 to 20 dB below your voice as a starting point. Check it once on a phone speaker.
Start early
From mid-December, everyone is busy with their Christmas videos. If your greeting is done in early December, you can relax, and the music is already there.
